Artist Therapist Role

Theatre Troupe is looking for a visual artist with a psychotherapy qualification on a freelance basis December 2021-September 2022 to join our Southwark Youth Troupe (SYT) programme in our distinctive artist-therapist role.  Theatre Troupe doesn’t offer therapy – our artist-therapist is primarily an artist in their own right.  But having a qualified therapist on the team means we can work safely and ethically with even the most vulnerable of young people.  The candidate may be an actual art therapist, or a non-arts psychotherapist who has their own professional practice as an artist.

We are looking for an inspirational, compassionate UKCP, BACP or HCPC qualified therapist who is also an exceptional visual artist with some experience in participatory arts.  You will work closely with our theatre artist to deliver creative workshops and shape a project that will eventually lead to a performance.

Thursdays in term time 3-8.30pm (includes set up and post workshop feedback) and a more intensive summer holiday programme.

£200 per session + a separate rate for additional training and evaluation.

This is a fixed term post, with intention to extend beyond this period.
