Are you passionate about working with marginalised young people?
Do you have an interest in the arts?
Would you like to gain more experience with structured support from professional artists?
Would you like to enhance your personal and professional development with a meaningful volunteering opportunity?
Volunteers are an essential, valued part of the Theatre Troupe workshop team and take part in the following activities:
- Participating in visual arts, drama and other arts activities alongside participants
- Offering one-to-one support for participants during the workshop sessions
- Acting as a member of a workshop team
- Taking part in team feedback sessions
We have two types of volunteers working on each project:
Specialist Volunteers are adults with specialist experience, skills or interests that relate to our work, for example: MA Arts students, trainee and qualified NHS clinicians, teachers and social workers.
Peer Inspirers are young people between 16 and 25 years old, who have an interest in the arts and supporting young people.
All of our volunteers attend an initial training session and we ask that they commit to at least 10 sessions (although there is some flexibility around this depending on your circumstances). We will offer you ongoing professional development through an Individual Development Plan (IDP), as well as therapeutic support from our on-site therapist.
If you are interested in getting involved in all aspects of our creative workshops, would like to help provide essential support for the young people we work with and can make a regular commitment to our work, we’d love to hear from you! – please send us a message using the form at the side of the page.
